Maybelline City Mini: Concrete Runway

I received this palette complimentary from Influenster for testing and reviewing purposes. All thoughts and opinions are my own. With that being said, I thought there were obvious pros and cons to the City Mini palette, Concrete Runway specifically, is that the mattes in the palette blend beautifully and have great color payoff. Although the mattes were great, I felt the shimmers were lack luster in color payoff. When I swatched the shimmers they looked metallic and super pigmented but that didn’t transfer to my eye despite trying a shader brush, my finger, and wetting the shadow with some Mac fix plus. I also wish there were more than just 2 matte shades in this palette cause it left me with only black as a crease and a deepening shade along with my one transition shade.

Prom of the day!

Today I have a prom for a lovely girl named Alexis. She chose airbrush makeup, false lashes, and wanted neutral color eyes but still dark enough to stand out. I am more than happy with the outcome of this look and she was just as happy as well! I love making people feel beautiful. My job is the best! Here’s some pictures from today’s prom makeup. The next proms will be early may! Stay tuned!

Guesting Blogging on Glam Fairy Website

If you follow the link above, you can read my before, during, and after my journey through makeup artistry. Also, check out other Glam Academy Alumni that will be posting as well! I will be updating on Friday for some more proms!

Prom #1& 2!

Since I have been very busy lately I’m going to do both of my most recent proms in the same post. My first client looked gorgeous in a natural eye with false lashes. She loved the turn out and booked me for her boyfriends prom the following month! My second prom was a huge success. I had help for the hair from friend/stylist, Kelsey Hillier. The overall look was awesome and I’m so happy with it! She selected a more color look because of her iridescent dress. She loved as well! Below are some pictures of the hair and makeup from both of these Junior Proms! Stay tuned for my next prom on April 25th!

Back at It!

Sorry everyone for my long delay in updating my blog. I’ve been very busy between school and work but I am delighted to say that makeup is still a very big part of what I do. I’ve done some small gigs recently for some local friends. Makeup for a wedding, sweet sixteen, concerts, things in that nature. Prom season is quickly approaching and I couldn’t be more excited! I have over 20 girls booked for different proms. I will be posting pictures and updates all about prom season! Stay tuned to see my work and continue to keep up as I make my way back to the Glam Academy😊💄

Favorite Lipstick!

I recently purchased a bunch of new goodies from MAC! I got a lipstick by the name of ‘Please Me’ and I’m obsessed. It’s a subtle pink/nude. Looks gorgeous on! Highly recommend to all you lipstick lovers💄

Trade for Print Fallout😩

Unfortunately, my trade for print shoot that was supposed to take place on Saturday, December 28, 2013 fell through. My model that I found through the website model mayhem stopped answering me the day before the shoot and it was to late for me to book another model. Although, that completely threw me off and made me mad, upset, and angry I was lucky to do makeup for 2 girls earlier that day before they attended a family members wedding. Both girls contacted me during and after the wedding telling me how much they loved their makeup and also how much everyone else did. I love making my clients happy so that was a pick me up for my big let down. I’m hoping to book another TFP shoot very soon so continue to stay tuned!

Second TFP!!😬

I really wanted to squeeze a TFP shoot in around the holidays and I finally got it all booked! For this TFP I will be doing an editorial themed look. I’m really looking forward to it and so happy that Ill have more pictures to add to my final binder and my portfolio! This shoot will be this Saturday, December 28th! Stay tuned for pictures and details!

First Trade for Print Shoot!

I just finally completely booked my First Trade for Print Shoot. I have a gorgeous model, amazing hair stylist and an experienced photographer who are going to take part with me on this look. I’m going to be doing Pin Up makeup. I haven’t completely honed in on a specific look but now that I know what my model looks like I can already tell I’m getting closer. I’m so excited and I’m so happy that I found a way to make a career out of something that I love so much.
